Ageing actively
We support personal growth, movement and learning for older people.
Every month we put together a pack of materials that gives older people more chances to spend their time meaningfully, to keep learning, and to look after their mental and physical wellbeing.

From Bratislava to Snina. We run this as volunteers — in the evenings, at weekends, alongside our jobs.
Nine items at two levels of difficulty — marked Ľ for easier and Ť for harder — so that a wide range of people can enjoy them. Always with the answers included.

We build bridges between younger and older people.
We believe even small activities can bring a great deal of joy.
Alongside the materials we run quizzes and events for older people.

The first of three summer knowledge quizzes for older people. The subject was Bratislava, and it felt like a race — the teams answered faster than we could read the questions out.

The second Dúbravka summer quiz turned to memories of Czechoslovakia. Residents of the Kaštieľ care home in Stupava joined us as well.

The closing quiz of the summer series brought together every topic the participants had asked for — the human body, geography, summer holidays, first aid, gardening and inventions.
I share your materials with colleagues across several departments, and everyone finds something for themselves. We also have younger clients, some with intellectual disabilities, and the materials suit them very well too. We are very glad to have worked with you — it helped us especially in the period after the flood a year ago, when we lost a great deal. Thank you.
We would like to thank you for your work on Krok k seniorom. We are very happy with the programme you offer and it is a great help in our work with older people. Your worksheets and activities are practical, purposeful and well suited to what our clients need.
Our clients show great interest in activities like the quizzes. They value how interactive they are — not only enjoyable, but a chance to exercise memory and reasoning. They take to them very positively and come back to them again and again.
We are a volunteer-run association. Whether you represent a funder, a partner organisation or simply want to help, we would be glad to hear from you.
